The Junior Staff Accountant will support NSM’s Healthcare Solutions division, which is comprised of three insurance programs focused on the medical stop loss and managed care space. This role is responsible for assisting with the financial accounting and reporting functions of the healthcare programs. The position will work closely with the NSM accounting team to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and to provide support for financial reporting and analysis. This position will be exposed to various accounting processes — creating an opportunity to learn and grow within the role. 

**This is a hybrid position, onsite 2-3 days per week from the East Norriton, PA. **

• Assist with the preparation and distribution of monthly fiduciary reports on behalf of our insurance carrier partners.
• Review and process incoming payments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Work collaboratively with other departments, including underwriting and claims, to support business operations and solve challenges that may arise.
• Assist with the weekly processing of claim payments, including obtaining the necessary approvals and ensuring timely payments are made.
• Handle internal and external customer inquiries in a timely, professional, and organized fashion.
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
• Balance the daily roll forward report and resolve any discrepancies.
• Assist with the processing of incoming and outgoing mail.
• Assist with annual audits, providing requested reports and backup to auditors and answering any questions that arise.
• Continuously seek to improve processes and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
• Other accounting duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
• Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software applications.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic and growing team.
