Responsibilities

  • Generate, underwrite, and analyze accounts.
  • Risk selection by qualifying leads and identifying target market.
  • Communicate with brokers for new and renewal business.
  • Pricie and issue multiple quotes with selected markets.
  • Develop and maintain strong broker relationships, including offsite visits/meetings/etc.
  • Thorough documentation of underwriting file.
  • Monitor claims activity and reporting.
  • Work closely with leadership in negotiation and handling of larger accounts.
  • Prepare thorough and succinct referral(s) to supervisor or company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2 -5 years of commercial property & casualty underwriting experience.
  • Prior experience in the social services/non-profit sector, preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
  • Ability to develop and foster carrier and broker relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Aptitude to negotiate, influence and close deals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • P&C license required, or to be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
