NSM and Dinghy’s vision is to transform the delivery of Professional Liability and General Liability insurance to small businesses and project-based independent contractors/freelancers, building upon its existing offering that is targeting freelance writers.

 

We are seeking a dynamic Product and Business Development Leader to take this exciting vision from concept to reality and beyond. 

 

Responsibilities

 

The role encompasses three main aspects:

  1. Developing the “go-to-market” strategy
  • Validating the underlying business opportunity
  • Detailing the marketing and business development strategy and associated investment
  • Developing the 5-year strategic plan in terms of revenues, costs, key KPIs, etc.
  1. Supporting the operation
  • Working alongside the NSM / Dinghy underwriting teams and their insurance partners to develop products
  • Identifying key product and user requirements and helping turn those into technical provisions
  • Partnering with NSM to understand the operational and people implications of the plan (e.g. finance, customer support etc.) while utilizing all necessary resources
    1. Leading the business development effort
  • Develop strategic relationships with selected industry partners (including recruitment agencies, partners with NSM’s UK subsidiary, Kingsbridge) to create a vibrant referral channel
  • Working alongside NSM’s marketing team to research, develop and deliver sophisticated direct marketing campaigns to the target market

 

  • Strong background and knowledge in the insurance domain with solid understanding of relevant insurance products and comfortable dealing with insurers
  • Leadership in the design, delivery and operational management of high quality, user-focused digital services
  • A strong track record of working in partnership with commercial partners to develop affinity or similar commercial opportunities
  • Proven ability to develop strategic plans
  • Understanding of the digital landscape and the opportunities for service improvement and innovation offered by digital technology

  • Strong collaborator who knows how to drive decision-making with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Design, Analytics, Sales, and Business partners.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
