NSM Insurance Group is looking for an Underwriter to join our Dallas team, specifially for the CPS (Care Providers Insurance Services) program; specializing in providing insurance for shelters, private/charter schools, childresns homes, adult home shelters and much more. This role is hybrid, 2-3 days in office.

  • Generating, underwriting and analyzing of accounts.
  • Risk selection by qualifying leads and identifying target market.
  • Communication with brokers for new and renewal business.
  • Pricing and issuance of multiples quotes with selected markets.
  • Development and maintenance of strong broker relationships including visitation.
  • Thorough documentation of underwriting file.
  • Monitors claims activity and reporting.
  • Work closely with Manager in negotiation and handling of larger accounts.
  • Preparation of thorough and succinct referral to supervisor or company.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to travel to broker visits/ events when needed
  • Ability to negotiate, influence and close deals
  • Ability to work independently and possess excellent organizational/time management skills
  • Great interpersonal & team building skills


Education/Experience :

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • At least 3-5 years of commercial multi-line underwriting experience
  • Computer Skills: Individual should be proficient using internet software, and Microsoft applications including Word and Excel. Must have the ability to learn and use insurance industry software
