The Underwriting Assistant will have daily contact with agents discussing accounts to acknowledge receipt, determine acceptability, gather information, rate new business and manage the pipeline.  This role will communicate with agency marketing representatives responding to inquiries regarding service and questions on procedures. This individual will work in a team environment to meet service priorities and due dates and provide reports, data and other needed information to the management team.

 

**This is a hybrid position, 2-3 day's onsite at our Home Office Location in Conshohocken, PA. 

Responsibilities

  • Review new submissions for completeness, accuracy and make requests for missing information.
  • Rate for quote within internal rating system.
  • Issue and bill all bound policies.
  • Process and bill all endorsements.
  • Ensure all documentation of Underwriting files received.
  • Follow up for required information.
  • Interact with our agent clients to provide superior customer service via phone and email.
  • Fully assist and support Underwriters in all aspects of their primary responsibilities and production goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.
  • Previous Commercial P&C Insurance Experience; Rating experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ISO commercial policy forms:  General Liability, Property and Auto
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide superior service and maintain strong relationships with agents and represent the NSM brand.
  • Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to self-direct, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates teamwork capabilities.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet applications.
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems (rating system, Pipeline, ConceptOne, ImageRight, etc.)
